Types of Dental X-rays
OPG X-Ray
An OPG is a panoramic X-ray of the upper and lower jaws, including the teeth
PA X-Ray
A periapical (PA)X-ray refers to a single X-ray that is taken to show a specific area of concern. If you have a tooth ache, your dentist is likely to recommend a PA film to see that whole tooth including the root.
Lateral Ceph X-Ray
A Lat Ceph is a lateral or side view x-ray of the face, which demonstrates the bones and facial contours in profile on a single film. Lat Ceph x-rays are usually used in the diagnosis and treatment of orthodontic problems.
3D X-RAY
3D dental x-rays take pictures of a patient's mouth and shows them in a 3D version. With this technology, the dentist can take a panoramic view of a patient's mouth, which helps improve accuracy during the treatment.
